Improve your writing with a list of 7 widely applicable tips

A short, accessible list of tips for anyone that wants to improve their writing.

My top 3 items:

  • If you remove a phrase or a statement from a document and the meaning remains clear, remove it.
  • Replace adjectives with data or details. Whenever possible, add a link to the data along with it.
    • We had a great quarter -> Our profitability went up by 15% this quarter to 115M.
  • Use absolute time units (Aug 28, 2024) instead of relative (in the next 2 weeks)
